THE ASSIGNMENT

Bennet Engineering was asked to provide the necessary support for three projects including:

  • Replacing low voltage cables
  • Revamping amine flash drum
  • Revamping 355-kW blower

For these assignments, we mainly provided support during the preparatory stages and for project supervision.

Low voltage cables
Through the process side of the plant, around 50 electric engines were fitted with new power and control cables. The cable routes are totally new, as well. And in the cable ducts, account has now also been taken of all other engines that will ever have to be provided with new cables at a later stage. We took care of all the coordination for this.

Amine flash drum
A totally new installation comprising civil engineering, mechanical and piping aspects. For this, we had to give E&I support: two pumps and various measurements and valves had to be provided with cabling and air. In addition, for the various cables for the tank we had to take sufficient account of the route followed by the LV cables. We took care of all the preparation and coordination for this.

Critical blower
There is a ‘green drum’ at the bottom on the 3D drawing below. A blower (ventilator) – but a very big one. The engine for the technicians: 355 kW controlled with frequency regulation on a separate 6kV transformer. This cable had to be laid along the same route with the others, too. We took care of all the coordination for this.
