COMPANY PROFILE

Our customer is one of Europe’s most modern tank terminals. They store and transship a wide range of chemicals and can load trucks, wagons and ships.

THE ASSIGNMENT

Breathing protection is necessary when loading various products. This mostly takes the form of a full face mask or air bottles. As full face masks can make you feel as if you are stifling and air bottles are heavy, our customer wanted to give its operators a third option, that of working with a flow hood. To offer this possibility, a compressor, filter and dryer were installed to purify the ambient air so as to ensure breathable air quality. In addition, a sufficiently large buffer tank was installed in order to be able to provide another half hour of pure breathable air in the event of a disaster.

In view of our great expertise in multi-disciplinary projects, the customer asked us to oversee this project from conceptual design to engineering & design to implementation.

I am pleased that with this project, I have been able to make the operators’ work more pleasant without compromising on safety.
